Our Beginnings
The first meeting of the WVASFA was held at Ritchie County High School on
June 1, 2000. Nine people comprised of county administrators and WV Department of Education representatives were in attendance, including:

Initially, four annual meetings were scheduled with the annual and semi-annual meetings, coinciding with the WVAPPA conference meetings.
The most recent WVASFA trade show had over 450 attendees and 49 of the 55 West Virginia Counties were represented.


The Constitution and Bylaws were drafted and approved and the first officers of the WVASFA were:
